Yoga
and Male Sexuality

Can a series of poses, deep breathing, and meditation really improve your
sex life? Absolutely!
To begin with, to have a fulfilling sex life, you must be
in good health. And yoga postures and breathing help promote a state of optimal
health. The healing power of yoga is very strong—so strong that men who are
impotent can regain their potency as they regain their overall health.
Let's discuss the poses (also known as asanas). Certain asanas open up
the hip and groin, loosen up the pelvis, massage the prostate, and promote
healthy blood flow to the reproductive and pelvic areas. In Kundalini
yoga, specific poses affect certain chakras, which directly impact sexuality by
unleashing and increasing sexual energy.
What is one of today's biggest sex killers for men? Fatigue. The stretching
sends greater blood flow to the muscles, which stimulates all the nerve endings. This makes the practitioner feel more alive and energized, and therefore more in
the mood.
Yoga relaxes the mind as well as the body, and a relaxed mind is key for a
harmonious sex life. Some believe that the inflammatory chemicals secreted when
you are under stress dampen the reproductive system, and it is a well-known fact that
stress causes blood to flow away from the genitals toward the extremities. In
addition, people who are nervous when it comes to sex are often helped by the
postures and breathing practices.
How Kundalini Yoga Works
Kundalini is a reservoir of energy, otherwise known as prana, which is stored at
the base of the spine. Because Kundalini has a spiraling power it is often
described, or depicted as, a serpent. This Kundalini energy is activated when
yoga is practiced. The energy moves up the spinal channel, also called the sushumna nadi, where it pierces the energy centers known as chakras.
